Brewfest 2011

Here I am going to outline the processes for getting all the Brewfest Achievements on the Horde side. I am fairly sure that for the most part the ally side will be much the same. The only discernible difference will be with the Drunken Stupor achievement and I will describe the best place to get that when I get to that Achievement.

So here we are again, the leaves are changing colours, nights are drawing in and our beloved Brewfest Festival is here again! Starting up a great list of Autumn/Winter world events, everyone on Azeroth is getting very drunk, riding around on strange rams and jumping from the top of high places while smashed beyond belief. The Dark Iron Dwarves are up to their usual beer stealing tricks and Coren Direbrew is behind the scenes encouraging all sorts of drunken debauchery!

The Horde are being held in Thrall!

Patch 4.2.0 has introduced some new things for us to do in the Cataclysm game and has give rise to much speculation particularly on the Horde side. A new quest chain has us spending time with Thrall in a series of tasks to free him from durance vile and reunited with his affianced Aggra. Horde players are now worrying that this means that our much loved former Warchief will not be returning to guide and lead us and that we are going to be stuck with Garrosh Hellscream indefinitely.

Goblins on World of Warcraft Cataclysm levels 1 to 20.

As an already established player on WoW, I was thrilled when Blizzard announced the two new races to be introduced with the new expansion Cataclysm. I was a little less thrilled to see that Blizzard did not increase the character per server allowance, in order for players that already had 10 characters on their favourite server to be allowed at least another 2 slots to try out the new "toons".
I, as a guild master for a horde guild have chosen to create a Goblin as my new character, although my daughter Serph has made a Worgen on the Ally side.

How can I gain reputation with the Therazane?

It is extremely useful to gain reputation with the Therazane faction in Deepholm for access to some extremely nifty shoulder armour buffs and rings. Having finished the entire quest chain in Deepholm and gained the Deep into Deepholm achievement you are given permission to go and find Therazane in her throne room and do a selection of daily quests from there. These quests are a useful and profitable way of gaining reputation with Therazane, lots of gold and if you are not already at level 85 lots of experience. Once you are allowed to use the throne room for these daily quests a portal becomes available for you to get there from the Temple of Earth and back again. If you are fortunate to have maxed Alchemy or have a friend that has maxed it, you can make a potion called Potion of Deepholm that takes you directly to the Temple of Earth from where ever you are, obliterating the need to return to your capital city to do your dailies there.

The guide to cooking recipes from Cataclysm

When you get to level 80 and download the Cataclysm expansion, all sorts of goodies become available for your delight, not least the new recipes available with cooking awards in Orgrimmar (and I assume Stormwind as well).
You have to pay 3 chef awards for each recipe but you can start collecting the awards as you do the daily cooking challenge in Orgrimmar on your low level toons. As with the cooking awards in Dalaran (still worth getting for the achievements available there), the recipes you can buy are not available elsewhere and almost all give great buffs for players upon consumption. Here is a list of the recipes, the buffs and where you can get the items for cooking (to be updated as I work it out!)

Have You Ever Seen a Warcraft Millionaire?

I ran across something the other day that took me a bit by surprise. It was the site, and its owner, Brad, claimed he was on the verge of becoming the first millionaire in the game. I thought about that statement for a minute and realized that I had never seen anyone with that much gold before.

Sure, I’d seen a lot of gold. Some of my friends have over 100,000 gold, but they have been playing since the game’s launch and know what they are doing. Myself, I only have a few thousand and I grind constantly to make more.

Hi wowaholics!

And welcome to the blog of me Kayler, guildmaster of New Beginings on Hellfire server.

I am (finally) a level 85 Shaman (main spec Elemental, second spec Resto) just beginning to get my item level high enough to do Heroics. Its been a long journey, made longer by learning how to run a guild and fit playing wow in amongst my several online jobs and large family.
Still we made it a couple of weeks ago and myself and my daughter Serphinia, also of New Beginings reached level 85 at exactly the same moment in time (a feat of mathematical engineering only Serph could pull off). We completed the final stages of our leveling journey doing the new skill Archaeology after both deciding that the Twilight Highlands was no place for an innocent Tauren to try to investigate alone!
